How do I get into the chat room? Here is a step-by-step run down on how to get into the chat room and start chatting:
* If you have any other questions click on the room name "CHAT ASSISTANCE HELP ROOM" and there should be a guide in there who can also answer your questions. Help, I can't get into the chat room! If you are having technical difficulty getting into the chat room please check out Out In America's Chat Help Guide Why is the chat room always empty? The most popular time of day seems to be around from 8pm to 11pm (EST), but evenings is usually when the action is. If the room is empty try waiting around and see if someone else comes in. Thursdays and Sundays seem to be the busiest days for some reason. What do all of those funny acronyms mean that people always use in the chat room, like lol? For a complete list of most commonly used chat room acronyms please consult Lady Bane's Guide To Chat Room Lingo. How come I can't find the chat room? First of all make sure you are on the right page. The page you want to be on is called "NeverLand Lesbian Chat Room". Click on the button on the chat room page that says "Out In America". This will open a new window called "Out In America (www.outinamerica.com) The GLBT Chat Service!". Here you will see a list of rooms. Type your name into where it says "Your name:". You don't have to use your real name, a nickname of some sort is preferred. After you type in a name click on the button that says "Enter Room". If you have any problems email Lady Bane at ladybane@messidordesign.com and she will try to help you. Didn't the chat room used to be a gay.com? Yes, it did. But because of policy changes on their part member rooms are no longer available. We were forced to pack up and move. Fortunately though we found a new home at outinamerica.com. What do I do if someone is harassing me in the chat room or if a man comes in? Your first line of defence is to select the persons name who is bothering you on the right side of the chat screen and then click on People at the top menu and select Ignore. That will block anything that person says and you will no longer have to see it. If the person still stays or is causing problems then ask a guide for help. At the top of the list of rooms there is one called "Chat Assistance Help Room", go in there and ask one of the guides for help. How long has NeverLand been around? NeverLand first opened it's doors on October 31st, 1999. Is there a story behind Never Never Land? A long time ago, there was a chat room called WarpLand. But because of personal issues and politics and a number of other things the creators decided to close it. The people of WarpLand were very upset and didn't want to loose touch with all of the friends they had made in WarpLand so one of the people decided to open a new and better chat room called NeverLand. Everyone was happy again and moved into their new home, adjusting nicely. Since then NeverLand has been going strong. Who started NeverLand? From the technical aspect, this web page was designed by Lady Bane. No one can claim credit for starting the NeverLand chat room, most of the people were from WarpLand who just wanted a new home. Why is it called Never Never Land? Although most people assume NeverLand was named after the fairy tale (Peter Pan), it was actually thought of while Lady Bane was wracking her brain one night to think up a semi-original name. Well it just so happened she was listening to Metallica at the time (Enter Sandman), and as the lyrics go: "take my hand...off to never never land" and that kind of stuck in her head. The rest is history. Who are the regulars here? A list of people's profiles can be viewed on the Profiles Page. Be sure to fill yours in too! How can I become a regular? To become a regular all you have to do is come on in, introduce yourself and keep on coming back for more! Before you know it you'll know everyones name just like at Cheers. Who can I contact if I have a question/comment/problem? Email Lady Bane at ladybane@messidordesign.com and she will gladly help out any way she can. Who designed the new NeverLand Logo? It was designed and generously donated by Karen from Kiwis Graphics. If you are in need of some graphics for your business or personal web site be sure to check them out and show your support for NeverLand! What is the Hidden Tink? The Hidden Tink is a page on NeverLand. If you find the Hidden Tink you will get good luck for the rest of the day. You are encouraged to e-mail Lady Bane if you find a Tink and let her know where you found her so she can add your name to the List of Winners. If you want to get more technical, the Hidden Tink is a prettied up version of a "Page not Found" 404 error. This way if someone finds one I will know where the problem is and can get it fixed ASAP. That way we are both helping each other. How do I upload pictures on the message board? To upload a photo, go to the Message Board, then click on the Forum you want to post your picture in, and then click "New Topic". Then type in a "Topic Title", like "my and my honey" or whatever you want, then type any message you want, then near the bottom you should see something that says "File Attachments". Click on the browse button, and select the file you want to upload (They have to be either JPG's or GIF's) and then click on "Post New Topic". I hope that helps, if you're still having problems please send me an e-mail. Is there anything I can do to help NeverLand? There are lots of things you can do to make NeverLand even better. You can submit articles for the NeverLand News, you can post messages in the Message Board, and/or you can donate to help keep our site free: How can I change my profile? We don't have the funds (actually we don't have any funds at all) to pay our poets. Will I get a free copy of the book if I submit my poetry or will I have to buy one? Unfortunately you will have to buy your own copy. I am trying to see if poets can recieve a discount on the price though. Will the works remain the property of the author and not be tampered with in any way? Absolutely! You will retain full rights of your poems. The only changes that will be made to your poem (if any) will be for formatting and spelling/grammer errors and those will be run by you for your approval first. What are the submission guidelines/rules? The submission guidelines are as follows:
Is there a limit to the number of poems I can submit? No, there is no limit. Depending on how many poems we recieve we may have to limit the number of poems included by any one author, but you can submit as many as you like. The more the merrier! How will I know if my poem is going to be in the book? Once a decision has been made whether to include your poem you will be notified by e-mail. What happens after I submit a poem? After you have submitted your poem, it will go to the Poetry Book Committee for review. If it has been approved you will be contacted by e-mail with notification that you're book will be included or a request for approval if any grammer/spelling changes that have been made. |
