After much controvery over the short story idea I have decided to just make a new web site dedicated to women authors when I get a chance. Of coures the first step is naming it, and I would appreciate all of your help with that. I am in desperate need of some idea names, so if you have any let me know at: newsletter@fly2neverland.com

If you could do one thing to change NeverLand to make it a better place, what would you do? Would you get rid of something that you think is senseless? Would you add a new service? Change the colours? Get rid of tink?

QueerRamblings is a fabulous monthly publication featuring the creativity of queer women. I started this magazine because of the abundant talent in our queer community that often goes unrecognized due to limited amounts of paper publications that will feature queer-themed creativity. QueerRamblings is a safe space for all queer women!
Promoting awareness. Encouraging creativity. Instilling pride.
Please do send me your work to include in QueerRamblings. What are your chances of being published in QueerRamblings? You have a very good chance of being included, so don't hesitate. You do not need to be a published author to submit your work. I'll send you a free copy of the issue your work is featured in. Send me a photo along with your work if you'd like.
I encourage material on all subjects, in any medium. Having said that, I'm not interested in upclose photos of your crotch, your girlfriend's crotch or your neighbor's crotch, as lovely as it may be.
QueerRamblings is a non-profit, grass-roots publication. Please note that we are a black and white publication because publishing in color costs a million dollars (practically.) Submissions of artwork in color will be converted to grayscale for publishing. Do not let this discourage you from submitting. I will make every effort to make your color work look good in grayscale.
My preference is for you to send work as an email attachment, though I'd love to receive them via snail mail if you can't get to a computer. Please do not send me your only copy as I'd hate for it to get lost or damaged. If you have material that you'd like to submit but aren't sure what the best way would be, please contact me and I'll work with you on it.
Please Note: You are submitting to the paper publication, not the website
I hope to hear from you soon!

Advice Column:

I am bi, but I am trying to discover if a relationship solely with another woman might be better suited to me. Is it still correct vernacular to say I'm "in the closet"? That being the case, I need to be discreet for now in where and how I try to meet someone. But I don't like going to bars or clubs, and rarely go to those locales unless a good live band I like is playing there, so the club scene might not be the best place to start meeting people. I'd like to meet some ladies who wouldn't mind starting out with friendship and see how it goes, and hopefully, they wouldn't be offended that I am bi. I am a very monogamous person, however. But my experience with men has been obnoxious lately, and I'd like to explore the other side of things while I'm single again. Where are the best clubs or bars in Houston, TX, USA, just in case I decide to try that avenue? And what are the other options for meeting others? I can contact Houston's PFLAG group, but I don't know if that's appropriate? Any suggestions? THANKS! - Anon.
Hi Anon. Well I'm not from Huston and know nothing about the area. I did a quick search of the 'net though and came up with a few names/numbers. Here are a few resources you might want to check out:
I can help out with more general things though. I would recommend making some friends online. Try some chat rooms and message boards. I think that's a great way to explore things from a safe distance. Then, if you want to take things further you can meet up. As always, use your head. Don't believe everything people tell you, keep your safety a number one concern. Check next months issue for some "Chat Room Advice".
- Ann NeverLanders
Hi Anon and welcome to Neverland. I would suggest a couple of things to you. Firstly coming to this site was a good idea! You should visit the neverland chat room if you can as it will give you the opportunity to meet new people and discuss many of your feelings in a safe and comfortable environment. We've all been where you are in many ways and hopefully the chat room atmosphere will help build your confidance around exploring your sexuality as well as give you a place to meet and make new friends. As for clubs in Texas, if no one in Neverland can help you, perhaps a visit to the Texas chat room in Out in America can steer you in the right direction. Womens groups/ clubs are always good places to meet people initially (in person that is) thats what I did. Joined a womens group and made many new friends from all walks of life and with various persuasions. Hope I've given you a few ideas. Stay in touch. -Dr. Phillipa
