The Heart Awakens

My heart awakens from the darkness it has known for so long. Almost afraid to wake up, fearing the light would not last very long. So, it opens up slowly with caution, taking only tiny baby steps, not knowing what the future holds, but hoping this time I could keep your love, and the light of happiness will never disappear.....and always be with me as long as you are here. I tell my heart to let go, and hide the fear so that it does not show, but just when my heart was getting used to the warmth of your love, suddenly again you were gone..............And all my heart was left with, was the darkness to sleep, while only dreaming of a love I once had back then..........
