An Indescribable Force

A trumpet busts out in jazz
filling the darkness with music
from the street corner down below
the coffee maker buzzes with its'
usual brews and pops
and with little more
than candle light
they begin to settle in
to the pulse of the night
and the mysteries that lie
somewhere in times like this
when their lives unexpectedly intersect
