A Prayer

I pray to you dear lord
From time to time I ask you for a favor
And I come to you again lord with another request
This time it is most significant
I ask you for my angel

You sent one to me some years back
Oh lord, she was so beautiful
She had blonde hair and green eyes
And a smile that gave me the chills
She was so warm and giving
Her patience amazed me
We both took each other into our hearts
She was perfect
So perfect

I asked you for her and heard me
You sent her to me
You knew exactly what I wanted
What I needed
I loved her so much
But as good things that usually come to end
So did my happiness

Satan always weasels his way into our lives
He got into mine
He gave me so much insecurity
I started to lose faith in my angel
I doubted her love
It scared me
It scared me so much
That I hurt that beautiful angel you sent me

There is nothing I regret more than losing faith
Without it we have nothing
With it we had everything
Now I'm afraid it's too late

So here I am again lord
I have a favor to ask
Please send my angel back to me
You see, I need her
There is no one else in this world
That could ever make me feel the way that she did
No one completes me as she did

We had so much love
How could it just be over?
How could she not feel it too?

So, if I had one wish
It would be that she know what she means to me
And that she desired me as I do her

If I had her back again
I would never lose faith
I would love her
And care for her
With all of my heart

I would make her feel so safe
I would cherish her forever
I'd spend each and every day
Thanking you for the most precious gift of all
An angel
One that was sent specially for me
I would keep her heart tucked away in a safe place
Somewhere where it would feel content

So you see,
If you grant me this favor
I won't let you or her down
I promise to take care of her
So please lord
Send my angel back to me
