In The Ocean Night No More

By jaehla

color my love with the wind of a clear day

and my eyes are unblemished

now

they see you through a faraway mist

made opaque in fear and uncertainty

yet,

now you are there for me

glowing in soft light, my beacon, my

lighthouse

my guide, my siren, my call to higher ground...

in strange sleep-filled tunnels of seperation

and arbitrary sounds of lonely footsteps, you

have reset my ears, to hear only

your voice, calling

your mind, calling

your will, pulling me

home

i am there with you now, a journey's end

no more peril and tales of sea monsters,

or doldrums which left my sails unfurled in vain

my throat salt-parched and my

tears, unseen

the endless seas of shaken belief

and gales that tossed my soul askew

no more, no more

sea-legs no more

no drunken, reeling, fevered cries

in the ocean night

no more

in a morning apart

under gray skies

and a rolling, roiling sea

i see your light now, i do

i am home now, i

am

i am yours now

i am

home from the sea for

you

is there any greater light under heaven?

your love, your arms, your eyes

yours, and i am

yours

tears no more...

no more
