For That Moment By Judith Christopher
There is much in this life I have endured,
From the sting of good byes to eyes that allure.
The very thing that draws us back for more,
The mystery, and the aching down to the core,
Eludes us all, time after time.
And leaves us empty, no rhythm or rhyme.
When once we've bathed in the richness of love,
We seek once more what we're dreaming of.
A touch or a look we've seen before.
Comparing new lovers to the one we swore
We would never love, no never again.
Yet still we search for that moment my friend.
For as women we know the sweet fragrance of love
Is truly a God given scent from above.
The depth of a glance, the strength of a stare.
The smell of her perfume hanging in the air.
The sound of her moan, the rhythm of her breath,
Will all negate the danger or threat,
Of any future good byes life might have to offer.
No "forevers" in store, no trip to the alter.
Yet I'd risk it all without hesitation,
Just to feel that moment of resurrection.
For that, I'd gladly expose them all,
Those wounds and scars upon my heart.
To have that moment of deafening silence.
Our love entwined and in perfect balance.
