You Need to Fight For Us

Rushed...
So many things still left to do...
So many "I love you's" still left to say
My heart beats for you
My body heats for you
My soul pounds for you
My love lives for you
But I'm scared it's not enough
I'm afraid that my world will stop
I'm terrified my life will come crashing down around me
You gave me the key to your heart
And I fear you'll want it back
So you can pass it along to someone new
I will fight for you
...for us
But I can only fight so hard
And can only offer so much
I am only me
And I pray that that's enough

So happy these past days
So loved
So warm
So true
So right
So full
Now the threat of darkness looms
An empty abyss ready to suck in all life
A hole waiting for me to fall

The only light is you
Your touch
Your smile
Your sparkle
Your heart
Your love
And now you stand there like a beacon
Trying to decide if we're worth the fight
Worth the effort
Worth the sacrifice
Worth the risk of gaining eternal happiness
I know that we are worth it
I am willing to risk it all
While I wait for you to make or break my world.
I can only pray that my love is enough
