Always

As I lay beside you I watch you sleep
I think of how my love for you runs so deep

At that moment I know my feelings to be true
I could never feel this love for anyone but you

I want so much to always be by your side
I despise the fact that this I must hide

I wonder if people will ever understand
The fact that in wedlock I want your hand

As the candle flickers and slowly burns
You moan and your body begins to turn

I wonder if I am present in your dreams
I touch your skin that is as smooth as cream

If I were to go to sleep and never wake
Would you know my love for you is true, not fake

That you have brought so much into my life
Would you then tell people that I was your wife

The candle light on your face tempts my lips
As I gently kiss your cheek, the numbers on the clock slowly flip

I know I should snuggle up to you now
Hold you close and try to sleep, but how

I can't seem to stop my mind from reeling
I think of how your love gives me such a warm feeling

Of how you can always put a smile on my face
Of how your passionate kisses make my heart race
Of how your touch send chills so fine
All the way up and down my spine

This promise I will make only to you
I will forever and always to you be true

I blow out the candle and turn to hold you tight
I wish to only have nice dreams of you tonight

I will always cherish our life together
And will always cherish our love forever

I pray for our love to always grow
For our feelings for one another to always show
For you to always be by my side when I wake
And for our hearts to always beat as one and never break.
