In This Place By Ebony Moore
I'm an alien in this world
Lost and searching for more
Never felt like I really belonged
Unless I was lessening the pain with a poem
Everything right seems wrong
Everything wrong will never be right
I've been wronged and deceived in this fight
So I trust no one with the depths of my mind
Only God understands this pain deep inside
I'm not trying to hide I just can't confide
So until the day I bid good bye
I'll just try my best to spread my winks and smiles
Try my best to spread the throne with my lines
Crimes wronged more than just men
Hard times can spawn more than just sin
But it'll take a miracle to fix it now
What's lost may never be found
God, we need a miracle to fix it now
So what's lost can be found
In a place where innocence is lost at birth
How can we understand what life is worth?
In a place where last is first
Who wins? Who loses? And who gets that curse?
In this place who escapes?
When we are determined to kill in any case?
The hardest thing I've ever done
Is letting go of my loved ones
The farthest I've ever come
Is 6 feet and under one
I'm under the impression that I'm almost done
It's almost time to drop these lines
Or maybe I've got more than just time
But either way
I'm going to treat each day like it's my last
Fighting to my death to forget my past
But to never forget the wisdom gained from that
Because I've shed more than blood
Wanted hope seeps from my wounds
Because in my life when it rains it floods
Watching hate fill up the tombs
Ripping babies early from their wombs
It makes no sense, will it all change soon?
Or are we doomed to wonder underneath the moon?
Never seeing farther than 6 feet deep
Never rising higher except in our dreams
