Skin

The darkness hides the light of skin
but does it relax the feelings with in
a continuous feeling of sensuous warmth
battling with life and its source
Will I cry or laugh out loud
break my fence and knock it down
Hold my heart with in your hands
before you speak or catch the mends
Eyes are red and oh so brown
I never thought I'd get off the ground
I never dreamed of being so scared
of something so gentle with no fear
Skin is cracked and commonly dry
wrinkles are sharing all my lies
Coldness enters the atmosphere
but is completely ignored by my tears
salt trickles down a face of beauty
releasing the emotions of scrutiny
Many will lay and slowly unfold
how many will it take to finally know
I'm blocked and circled by hate itself
I will never again see his belt
I will never again fear my soul
faith and hope locks my doors
Blurred and confused
these feelings I've brought to you
Sorry and love are spilling from my cup
kisses and hugs make it all up
I've followed this road of dirt and gravel
I've taken a detour to pleasantly travel
I'm free and happy with in
I will never give up on my skin
I will never lay down in a place of disgust
My mind and body deserve so much
So open your mind and take it all in
relax and let the darkness be your bright light again
Let it hide no feelings no bitter or sweet
Its your body its yours to keep
Its what you make it and who you are
Its the skin that miss leads the falling stars
Its that great book that you never got to read
That loved one you will never get to see
Those who disappear and never tell why
and those who fall in your lap right out of the sky
a fairy tale ending is always the dream
life is never what it seems
breathing deeply with quivering hands
she stands up and there I stand
with my heart in her speech
my spirit out of reach
my life a movie out of the store
My skin helps me be so much more
step away and find yourself
take a trip and feel what you felt
replace the bad with the good
its not where we've been but where we will go
friendship is out of this league
but is it what it seems
I've found it here beneath my history
