All of Me By Chell
Where did she go,
That child of the light?
To coax her out
Is to take back the night,
But can she forgive this slight?
I feel her anger
Rolling just below the surface.
She wants to break free.
I should know this part of me,
But I don't remember her face.
I couldn't leave her behind though I tried;
Our lives intertwined like Jekyll and Hyde.
I wouldn't abide
My stone heart belied;
I stood in cold silence while she cried.
Is there room for us both
In this life that I've built?
Or will I defy her
And always deny her
The comfort of love's quilt?
Entombing the pain of her betrayal
I buried myself as well.
Do I resurrect Wednesday's child,
Or remain an empty Chell?
Only time will tell.
