Heart-shaped jigsaw

By Devilyangelic

Once I was whole,
but then I let myself fall.
Untouched was this heart,
that's now been blown all apart.

Hairline fractures just like you get in china,
only my heart is not made of porcelain but something more finer.
Still down the middle it has been broke,
all because of harsh words that's spoke.

Shattered into smithereens,
torn and broken just like my dreams.
Wounded and left as cold as stone,
yet still searches for its home.

Bruised and maimed by this thing called love,
seeks the bird of peace, where is that dove?
But no dove comes just a vulture to feast on my most vulnerable part,
showing no remorse as it devours my heart.

Regurgitating this vital organ of mine,
piece by piece as my soul begins to whine.
Begging to be freed from these chains of hurt,
unable to fathom out why to me life can be so curt?

Piece for piece I begin to merge back together,
telling myself that more hurt is something I cannot endeavour.
On my knees as I trace this lonely floor,
fixing together this HEART-SHAPED JIGSAW!!!
