It's a simple word of caution

By Sexy Squirrel

It's a simple word of caution
Uttered by the first feeling
Caused by sight, brought on by touch
Of the image that walks through the light

It's the dusty words on empty pages
Written in a murky ink
Knowing that love had found me
And in its chains bound me

It's walking down the ocean's breeze
The empty shell of a woman
Broken by the dreams delivered
Around her head that quivered

It's 3 am in the silent morning
Cradling my head in my hands
Trying to escape chilling visions
That sink so deeply into crimson

It's a dead end tunnel going on
That I've been digging for miles
I'm falling down while she leaves
Remembering how it is to be on my knees

It's another empty hallway
With so many vacant rooms
A whisper spoken that echoes
On and on in darkest silence grows

It's only a memory of a place
So far away, somewhere I've yet been
Looking for a home, a forgiving soul
A place, a love that I can know

It's a simple word of caution
Can I trust my initial feeling
Knowing that I'd still be without
The image that walks alone into the light
