Family First

I've got something to tell you,
not sure how to say
but I don't think am gonna
have that perfect wedding day.

Maybe you guessed,
maybe you new,
but I've got these feelings
that are beginning to grow.

I wanted to tell you
right from the start
then things went wrong,
I fell apart.

For the past three years
I've dealt with my fears.
I swallowed my pride,
yet still I cried.
These feelings I had
I didn't know they
would last.

So now I step up,
tell you how I feel,
explain to you my
feelings for her
are surreal.

I wont be wearing that dress,
or walking down that aisle.
I won't be having that perfect
little life style.

You look at me,
confused I see,
I try to explain
just what she means to me.
My heart beats faster,
am I to blame?

I don't need a man
to find the love
that I crave,
or to raise a family
and be a slave.

All I want is her,
and my dreams.
To be with her
to the extreme.

They say it's a phase
it'll fade away,
am not too sure
because I've always
felt this way......
