I push myself away

I push myself away
that I may float
aware only of my detachment

I flee the ache of truth
and watch the sky spin around me

I flock to the confusion of teetering on reality
as it fades like a scar
from a once deep wound

preservation is a tragic wave
for the farther I flee
the closer I am
