Hugs at 4 A.M

Hair strewn over your pillow, I lay here just gazing at you.
Finding myself in a mesmerised state, not sure what else to do?
So I'll lay here just a little while more.
Falling deeper into the one that I adore.

The love in my heart rattles, fighting its way free.
I've got to let you know what you're doing to me.
My head falls to a slant as "mmmorning", you gently sigh.
Within milliseconds we're entangled, as your leg slips between my thigh.

Reaching out I wrap your innocent nakedness up in my warm embrace.
As I bestow the sweetest of kisses to each side of your face.
I'm rewarded with a smile that ends at my tingling toes.
As you give me 'that look' and wrinkle up your nose.

Closing my eyes I trace the lips I know by heart.
Inching my way into you til we're just millimetres apart.
Feeling your breath on the side of my chin.
With opened eyes I take your beauty in.

My eyes meet yours and stay there some time.
I caress your bum as you softly stroke mine.
My hand seeks the one it's come to love and know.
You clasp it safely and whisper, "I'm not going to let you go".

"I couldn't sleep", I whisper as you soothe me with your soft kiss.
It seems I am rewarded for not wanting to miss.
One more second with you and you understand again.
That I still wake up needing your HUGS AT 4 A.M!!
