Love's Bitter End

Your eyes can't lie
Sadness rings true
Like a bell in the air
Despair shared by two.

No longer in love
But unable to leave
Parting is so hard
Leaving all to grieve.

Wondering what lies
In destiny's wake
Fearing what comes
And what it will take.

Such lonliness bounds
Seeing no shore
Needing to live
Knowing life holds more.

Time will boast
The wound will heal
But it seems unlikely
With this pain you feel.

So bidding goodbye
And losing a friend
All seems lost
In love's bitter end.
