midnight rain By Eliza Booth
Flying down the
hot new road
to a place that held
our laighter
in shiny promisses.
"What should our names be?"
we all radoied
car to car
like secret mission impossibles.
The sun setting down
on a new place not
yet found,
we relished on the
spark of
one anothers eyes.
That was when we would still
blush from unsaid attentions
we shared.
So flying down that highway,
that hot summers dusk
with friends we had
but didnt really trust
We began our dance.
I said to name your self
bring in your own
power
but I was just
too scared of mine.
Then you said
those damn words.
"Your turn."
There was LAdy Sage
and Tiger Liliy
Ex-ray(dork!)
and burning sage
then dream walker.
The highway was long and
the night slipped up on us.
Wanting more to quite driveing
we kept on.
No name yet Eliza?
Nope.
Your all too happy
and pretty
and I felt like
a fool,
but I knew
this was a game for
the passengers.
I was a passenger
with no name.
What do I want
to feel
when you just look at
me?
From sun to moon,
highway to highway
smile to smile
and
hand to hand?
midnight rain-then it began.
