The Cold

By Leigh

I took your hand as you turned to face the cold
I touched your face, but the sun had already gone
Now I'm feeling the gaping wound
of scars that won't heal
The stars have fallen down
And your eyes cannot feel
You told me you would be here
You said you would never leave
I thought we would be together
But where you've gone, I just can't be
Will I see you again where the sun meets the sky
When I see you again
Will I know the reason why
I'll take your hand
And you will be there
When I touch again I'll have no fear.
