Proud

I am proud to be who I am, even though some claim it's a sin.
They to me are critics, and cinics.
Do they everyday live by the book they consider gold?
I argue they do not, because to others they wouldn't be so cold.
At first glance do they realy know who I am.
No, not until they see a woman holding on to my hand.
I can not help the feelings I fee, the are not fake, they are true and oh so real.
Not being real to me and being with a man I tried for many years.
I was not happy, and it showed, my heart hurt, my eyes cried a million tears.
To be in a womans arms felt so right.
No longer giving in my sexuality I no longer wished to fight.
To those who claim it is a sin, against Gods word, you were not put here to save his earth.
Yes, he created Adam to love Eve, but our love is the same, this you can beleive.
We are from all backgrounds, religions and ways of life.
We are or someday will become anothers wife.
When you look at us, what do you see?
Come on look past our sexuality!
We are strong, loving, intelligent, beautifull women, with the upmost class and grace.
So now what do you see when you look into our faces?
It is not a phose, it is not a disease, so quit criticizing us please.
We are lovers, motherw and friends,
We are women and YES,
We are Lesbians!!
