See my light

Heart on sleeve,
has only enabled me more hurt to receive.
I cannot dim this love in me that shines like the sun,
that only aids them want to run.

So reaching out,
is now something I doubt.
As I don't want to be rejected,
everytime I reach out to the one whom I'm connected.

Crossing my heart,
just seems to aid to us being pulled further apart.
I can't change who I am and can be,
so I won't stop offering a branch from this tree.

Maybe one day,
she will run to me and not away.
Realising that I mean no harm,
shushing my fears as I remain calm.

But until then,
I'll lay here asking again and again.
If I'll ever find this special one,
who will find warmth when my love is shone.

Hoping against hope,
that with my huge heart she can cope.
A tear falls as I lay here tonight,
praying that one day she will SEE MY LIGHT?!?
