Mercy On My Heart

By Terrie

I tend to hold on for a little longer when someone hugs me. Just because it feels so nice to be held.
My arms are empty and my embrace has weakened. My lips are dry and parched from lack of kisses.
I feel like a lonely widow slowly dying from a broken heart.
I am so lonely and sad.
Everyday is grey. There is no sunshine on my heart and I have stopped growing from lack of love, like water.
You tore out every ounce of strenght I had in order to hold on.
Now I am free falling, hitting every rock on my way down.
By the time you return, I will be battered, broken and bruised.
Waiting for your mercy, begging you to stop hurting me!
