Once In a Lifetime

I remember I met someone that I loved. And how I knew was because I pretended not to know. She was my friend and I loved her. I would breathe her and at night when I sleep I dream her. My head would ache when I didn't hear her. And when I close my eyes I could feel her. My heart would ache if I felt like I couldn't be near her. And when it was all said and done, I would lose her.

Do you know what it's like to really feel in love. Do you know what it's like to really feel someone love you the same time you feel you really love them. The same feeling at the same time. That same longing at the same time. That same wanting and yearning at the same time. I felt that way and I was high.

Have you ever been high off what you feel in your heart. Feeling that nothing could tear you apart from that feeling, that emotion so strong you feel you can't let go of whatever it is that you feel.

I remember when I was high. And I wasn't even smoking. I remember how it felt to say I love you and feel it. And to hear it and feel it and nothing I did could conceal it. It was like a drug that kept calling my name and when I tried to walk away it was a deep seeded pain.

I feel her, I long for her, I miss what I had with her. But most of all she was my friend and I lost her. A ONCE IN A LIFETIME love affair.

Was it all even worth it, to feel that feeling, to love someone FOR REAL. I may never hear her laughter. I will never feel her touch. I will never get to tell her that I still love her so much.

Was it all even worth it. I can't say. Cause if I had to do it all again, I think I'd do it the same way. Because when it's real there's no mistaken, and it didn't last a lifetime, but in this lifetime I can say that once upon a time, I loved someone for real and at the same time, they loved me and it felt good and it felt strong. Even though it didn't last very long.

And because at least once in my life I felt it, I can't say I don't care, but I know in my heart that was a ONCE IN A LIFE TIME love affair.
